Our photo library got off to a modest start with around 180 photos found in 2006 among records kept by the former teacher, Marcel Malbos. The priority was for former students - the Villardiens - to recognise and name everyone in them: they were the irreplaceable guardians of visual memory. With the help of Villard town council, the photos were photocopied and sent to the 120 or so Villardians whose addresses we had. They were also asked to share their own photos.
There were many responses. The photo library quickly grew to 500 photos, then 1000, and now over 1530. All have been digitised in high definition and are available on this site.
