In French only. Interview with Édouard Renn, a Polish high school student and witness to the fighting in the Vercors. A 19-minute documentary produced by the Drôme department in 2011 for the exhibition Polish Resistance Fighters in the Vercors, at the Resistance Museum in Vassieux-en-Vercors.

Everything was going very well until 1939, until the war. High school classes had started that year on October 5. And war had already been declared by France. Many students in my class said to me, “Dirty Pole, because of you, my father has to go to war.” My father, who had fought in the First World War as a volunteer, had been called up as a reservist. I said, “My father is at war too.” “But that's normal, you're Polish! What are we going to do in Danzig? Why are we declaring war on the Germans when they haven't done anything to us?”
